Scuba Diving Equipment
Scuba diving equipment holds your life in its metaphorical hands when
you are under the water. Maintaining excellent condition in all equipment
demands constant vigilance and care.
It is preferable to take a few extra minutes caring for your scuba
diving equipment before and after every dive. Hundreds of dollars of
equipment and your life depends on it.
Equipment maintenance tips:
• Write down the serial numbers – If you are on a big boating
or diving expedition, there is always a chance that your equipment could
be mixed in with someone else’s equipment. By writing down the
serial numbers, you will be able to know for sure what is yours.
• Mark your equipment – All you really need to do this is
some kind of a waterproof marker or something else. A labeler may work
well also. Marking your scuba diving equipment just helps you in making
sure things are not getting mixed up.
• Keep it all together – Get a dive bag. The whole reason
why they are available is to give you a place where you can organize
all of the materials and items you have.
• Be organized – Keep things in the same order each time
you pack your dive bag. If you do this, it will be readily obvious to
you when you are missing a piece of scuba diving equipment.
• Be bright – This does not mean to just be smart, but also
be colorful. Choosing some vibrant colors on your scuba diving equipment
will help them stand out a little more on a scuba trip. This will allow
you to keep better track of them.
